Celebrating construction with the pupils of Chipping
Pupils from St. Mary’s RC Chipping Primary and Brabins Endowed School swapped their school books for bricks and mortar when we invited them to visit our new Fellside development in the village of Chipping, to learn about how new homes are planned and built, with our contractor Harry Fairclough.
Whilst on site the children and teachers were able to observe and learn about the different materials used in housebuilding, the jobs involved and the importance of health and safety. They viewed drone footage images of the site build to date, and also looked at the various architectural drawings and plans that will be used to bring the development to completion.
We also launched a brand-new competition to find the best designs for a site banner titled “Why I love Chipping”. All children have been given the chance to enter their drawings, with a winner from each school being revealed at the show home launch in April. The banners will be displayed at the entrance to Fellside to promote the beautiful location and the reasons that people like to live in the village of Chipping.
Rachel Wallace, Head Teacher at Brabins Endowed Primary School said “The children thoroughly enjoyed their time visiting the development and learning more about the interesting jobs in housebuilding. We look forward to seeing the children’s own take on what Chipping means to them in the competition.”
It was a great few days enjoyed by all and we hope to have inspired the next generation of housebuilders!
